During the Forty-Seventh Annual General Meeting held on 10 June 2009, PacificMas had informed its shareholders and subsequently at the press conference that it had applied to Bank Negara Malaysia ("BNM") to commence negotiations with a local party for the proposed disposal of all the issued and paid-up share capital of its wholly-owned subsidiary, The Pacific Insurance Berhad ("Proposed Disposal").
We wish to announce that on 25 June 2009, the Company received a letter from BNM dated 24 June 2009 stating that it was unable to consider the application from PacificMas to commence negotiations with the local party for the Proposed Disposal.
